Social Studies Education at the Fundamental Level

I hope in the future that social studies classes will teach more about the local government. The basic and often accessible unit of government is often ignored. People write and focus on presidents, senators, and high level officials. But the closest to home representatives on the local level are rarely taught today in US Civic Classes.

Political education at the Township Level was completely skipped over in my school district. It is at this level of government, where ordinary citizens can have an impact. I wish my school would have taught more about the roles of municipal and county governments.

Change America from the bottom up, its more harmonious than top down.
